LADIES DAY JUNE 2014

A wonderful time was had by all on Ladies day this year. Clouds turned to blue sky and sunshine and the reinstatement of the drinks gazebo at the 11th made for a superb and fun day.

Not only were the flowers at the front entrance coming into their own courtesy of Marion Munro but the beautiful display on the ground floor was once again thanks to Margaret Neil.

The magnificent arrangement on the table at the half landing and the window displays were the work of Joy McLeod.

Many thanks to you all, it is very much appreciated.

DAVID REID MEMORIAL TROPHY - OPEN MIXED FOURSOMES

Many many thanks to Maureen Cook and her committee for their superb organisation of the Mixed Foursomes. Maureen's team consisted of Denise Cowan, Marion Munro, Ann Judge and Alan Gordon. On the table were Pat Pennel, Carol Reid and Pamela Mackenzie. Joy Mcleod did the flowers and Maureen's husband John was persuaded to be a starter.

Thanks to all their hard work, particularly Maureen's, sixty couples took part - a huge increase from last year.
The bad news is it was so impressive that you may well be asked to do it again!!

PAST LADY CAPTAIN'S TROPHY -- TEAM ROGER WIN

Winners -- Team Toger

Runners Up  -- Team Macgregor

Janet Gillies with Helen and Captain Eileen
Despite a very gloomy forecast for today and thoughts of cancelling or playing 9 holes the weather took a turn for the better and twenty- three ladies made up six teams and played a stableford over13 holes with two counting shots at each hole.

1st with 63 points -  Team Roger:
Fiona Roger : Karin Mackenzie : Helen Abram : Sheila Biggart - their team captain was very keen for them to do well - or so I'm told!

Runners up with 62 points - Team Macgregor:
Evy Macgregor :Carol Reid : Mary Hardie : Vivien Howe - Evy was truly delighted to be taking the picture home again !

We were joined by four other ex Lady Captains for lunch which was very enjoyable.
Trish Brown  very kindly brought her mum Janet Gillies  for coffee.
Janet has recently celebrated her 98th birthday.

PAST LADY CAPTAIN'S TROPHY FRIDAY 13TH JUNE

Ladies, I had originally planned to play 13 holes(green course), 1-6 and 12 in, however the weather forecast looks awful .
The lunch is booked 1 for 1.30pm but Ishbel has agreed to bring the lunch forward to 1pm.
I think at best the competition may be 9 holes.

I will contact team captain's early, particularly those coming from Glasgow when I get a better idea of the weather outlook.

I will keep everyone posted either on the blog or email.
